At Victoria Glen Manor, we provide specialized and compassionate palliative care services. Our approach is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents dealing with life-threatening illnesses through prevention and relief of suffering. Our expert team focuses on comprehensive symptom management, including pain relief, while also addressing the emotional and psychological well-being of both residents and their families. At VGM, our goal is to empower residents to make informed choices about their care while ensuring their comfort and dignity throughout their journey. Our approach emphasizes open communication, respect for individual preferences, and a commitment to optimizing the well-being of our residents, regardless of the progression of their condition.

Palliative Care is a compassionate method that enhances the well-being of individuals and their families who are confronting life-threatening illnesses. This is achieved by proactively identifying and addressing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual suffering through effective pain management and holistic care.

  • Keep the resident comfortable and pain free

  • Create family presence and involvement

  • Provide education + communication that include staff, residents and families.

The daisy serves as the symbol of palliative care. At VGM, we adorn the doors of our palliative care residents with daisy wreaths to foster awareness and increase our staff's sensitivity to the requirements of both residents and their family and friends.

Upon the passing of a palliative care resident, we initiate a "Code Daisy." Our personnel lines the hallways of the designated house as the resident is accompanied out of the facility.

We also possess a quilt crafted by local women in our community, featuring meticulously hand-stitched daisies. This quilt is on display as you enter our building, on our Palliative Care Board. We use a beautiful daisy blanket to drape over the stretcher as the resident departs the building.
