at VGM, OUr GOal IS TO...
The daisy serves as the symbol of palliative care. At VGM, we adorn the doors of our palliative care residents with daisy wreaths to foster awareness and increase our staff's sensitivity to the requirements of both residents and their family and friends.
Upon the passing of a palliative care resident, we initiate a "Code Daisy." Our personnel lines the hallways of the designated house as the resident is accompanied out of the facility.
We also possess a quilt crafted by local women in our community, featuring meticulously hand-stitched daisies. This quilt is on display as you enter our building, on our Palliative Care Board. We use a beautiful daisy blanket to drape over the stretcher as the resident departs the building.
You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die
