dietary services
The Dietary Team at Victoria Glen Manor strives to provide a home-like dining experience for your family member where their satisfaction, safety, and mealtime enjoyment is our top priority.
MENUS
We offer a five-week cycle menu that runs Monday – Sunday. Menus are changed and updated on an ongoing basis to reflect holidays, seasons of the year, and changes in resident food preferences. There are two sets of menus: Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. Our Registered Dietitian creates and approves each menu. Menu suggestions and recipes from residents and family members are always welcome!
FOOD FROM HOME
You are more than welcome to bring in food from home for your loved one. Any food that requires refrigeration will be labeled with name and date. We ask that any food that requires refrigeration be kept in the fridge in the dining room and not in bedrooms for food safety purposes. If you are unsure if a food is ok to give to your family member, please ask our dietitian or a nurse as they will be able to inform you if your family member is on a special type of diet (ex: puree, thickened liquids, soft diet).
DINING ROOMS
There are two dining rooms at VGM – one in Aroostook House and one in Tobique House. Each resident is encouraged to come to the main dining room in their designated house for meals, but if they prefer to eat in their room a tray can be provided. You are also welcome to join your family member for meals, see the front office for payment details!
